"Roger Straiton’s predilection for Bordeaux wines is no secret within the Society.

As a consequence, this month’s wine tasting will look at Bordeaux Red Grape Blends/Single Varietals as they are made in Bordeaux and elsewhere.

We will be presenting:

Cabernet-dominant blends from both Bordeaux (St Julien) and from Italy, the latter in the form of a Super-Tuscan.

Merlot-dominant blends from both Bordeaux (St Émilion) and from Italy, the latter again in the form of a Super-Tuscan.

Two Australian single varietal Cabernet Sauvignons, one from Coonawarra and the other from Margaret River.

This is an ideal opportunity to compare and contrast premium wines both from Bordeaux and with a strong influence from the region.”
